Shawn Driscoll is running to be the next Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Prince Edward Island.
Shawn is a proud Islander with first hand experience in how government can have a positive impact on people’s lives.
The proud son of Boyd, an electrician, and Nancy, a resident care worker, from a young age Shawn learned the value of hard work and community service.
After attending school in Charlottetown, Shawn attended Dalhousie University in Halifax. His lifelong interest in politics inspired him to focus on Political Science.
Shawn worked for Gail Shea, then MP for Egmont and member of the Federal Cabinet. He played a crucial role in assisting Shea in her capacity as Minister of Fisheries. Whether it was strengthening fisheries infrastructure like wharves and ports or defending the seal hunt, Shawn gained an appreciation for all hard-working Islanders and how to get things done in politics.
Until recently Shawn worked with the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Caucus, researching the doctor shortages, ER closures and aging medical infrastructure that has deteriorated under Nova Scotia’s current Liberal government.
He is a proud Progressive Conservative who believes in lower taxes, less government and more supports for families. Shawn brings a fresh perspective on the challenges facing many Islanders and won’t back down from talking about the issues that matter.
Our next leader has only months before taking on the Liberal government in a provincial election. We need a leader who understands how to navigate government bureaucracy in all three levels of government. Shawn’s experience working in politics has more than prepared him for leadership, for government and working with Islanders to achieve our full potential.
